Switch #:
SWTI000324
Switch type:
Specificity
Switch subtype:
Domain hiding

Description:
An intramolecular interaction of an SH3 binding motif, encoded by exon 12A, in Isoform II2 of Myc box-dependent-interacting protein 1 (BIN1) with the SH3 domain of Bin1 prevents interaction of the Bin1 SH3 domain with the SH3 binding motif of Myc proto-oncogene protein (MYC).

Participants:
(1) Isoform II2 of Myc box-dependent-interacting protein 1 (BIN1)
(2) Myc proto-oncogene protein (MYC)

Interactions
Interaction #1 BIN1 - BIN1(intramolecular)
intramolecular
Is mutually exclusive with Interaction #2 MYC - BIN1

Interfaces
(1) LIG_SH3_3 motif (305RKGPPVP311) in Isoform II2 of Myc box-dependent-interacting protein 1 (BIN1)
(2) Variant SH3 domain (413-479) in Isoform II2 of Myc box-dependent-interacting protein 1 (BIN1)
Additional Information
Structural information: 1MV3
Interaction #2 MYC - BIN1

Is mutually exclusive with Interaction #1 BIN1 - BIN1

Interfaces
(3) LIG_SH3_2 motif (60PLSPSR65) in Myc proto-oncogene protein (MYC)
(4) Variant SH3 domain (413-479) in Isoform II2 of Myc box-dependent-interacting protein 1 (BIN1)

Interaction Regulation
Effector binding Abrogation (Isoform II2 of Myc box-dependent-interacting protein 1 (BIN1)) of the Myc proto-oncogene protein (MYC) LIG_SH3_2 motif - Isoform II2 of Myc box-dependent-interacting protein 1 (BIN1) Variant SH3 domain interaction

Additional Information
Structural information: 1MV0
