Switch #:
SWTI000464
Switch type:
Binary
Switch subtype:
Pre-translational

Description:
Alternative splicing removes the WW-binding motif of Angiomotin (AMOT), abrogating binding to WW domain-containing transcription regulator protein 1 (WWTR1). The splice specific Isoform p130 of Angiomotin (AMOT) of AMOT works within the Hippo pathway to sequester the transcription coactivator YAP1 away at tight junction. In contrast Isoform p80 of Angiomotin (AMOT) of AMOT lacks WW-binding motif.

Participants:
(1) Angiomotin (AMOT)
(2) WW domain-containing transcription regulator protein 1 (WWTR1)

Interactions
Interaction #1 AMOT - WWTR1

Interfaces
(1) LIG_WW_1 motif (239PPEY242) in Angiomotin (AMOT)
(2) WW domain (124-157) in WW domain-containing transcription regulator protein 1 (WWTR1)

Interaction Regulation
Alternative splicing Abrogation of the Angiomotin (AMOT) LIG_WW_1 motif - WW domain-containing transcription regulator protein 1 (WWTR1) WW domain interaction
