Switch #:
SWTI000541
Switch type:
Binary
Switch subtype:
Pre-translational

Description:
Alternative splicing removes the dynein-binding motif of Unconventional myosin-Va (MYO5A), abrogating binding to Dynein light chain 2, cytoplasmic (DYNLL2). DYNLL2 (also known as DLC2) globally protects the tail domains of MYO5A against limited proteolysis.

Participants:
(1) Unconventional myosin-Va (MYO5A)
(2) Dynein light chain 2, cytoplasmic (DYNLL2)

Interactions
Interaction #1 MYO5A - DYNLL2

Interfaces
(1) ELM:LIG_Dynein_DLC8_2 motif (1286KNTMT1290) in Unconventional myosin-Va (MYO5A)
(2) Dynein light chain type 1 (1-89) in Dynein light chain 2, cytoplasmic (DYNLL2)

Interaction Regulation
Alternative splicing Abrogation of the Unconventional myosin-Va (MYO5A) LIG_Dynein_DLC8_2 motif - Dynein light chain 2, cytoplasmic (DYNLL2) Dynein light chain type 1 interaction
