Switch #:
SWTI000550
Switch type:
Binary
Switch subtype:
Pre-translational

Description:
Alternative splicing removes the caspase-3 scission site of Carcinoembryonic antigen-related cell adhesion molecule 1 (Ceacam1), preventing cleavage by Caspase-3 (Casp3). The presence of cleavage sites allows production of a stronger adhession molecule.

Participants:
(1) Carcinoembryonic antigen-related cell adhesion molecule 1 (Ceacam1)
(2) Caspase-3 (Casp3)

Interactions
Interaction #1 Ceacam1 - Casp3

Interfaces
(1) ELM:CLV_CASPASE3_1 motif (457DQRD460) in Carcinoembryonic antigen-related cell adhesion molecule 1 (Ceacam1)
(2) Caspase domain (45-275) in Caspase-3 (Casp3)

Interaction Regulation
Alternative splicing Abrogation of the Carcinoembryonic antigen-related cell adhesion molecule 1 (Ceacam1) CLV_CASPASE3_1 motif - Caspase-3 (Casp3) Caspase domain interaction
