Switch #:
SWTI000602
Switch type:
Binary
Switch subtype:
Pre-translational

Description:
Alternative splicing removes the PTB domain-binding motif of Phosphatidylinositol 4-phosphate 5-kinase type-1 gamma (Pip5k1c), abrogating binding to Talin-1 (Tln1). Integrin receptors, Tln1 and Isoform PIPKIgamma661 of Phosphatidylinositol 4-phosphate 5-kinase type-1 gamma (Pip5k1c) (PIPKIgamma661) are recruited to focal adhesions, inducing synthesis of PI(4,5)P2. The regulated and localised generation of PI(4,5)P2 facilitates the assembly and/or disassembly of focal adhesions.

Participants:
(1) Phosphatidylinositol 4-phosphate 5-kinase type-1 gamma (Pip5k1c)
(2) Talin-1 (Tln1)

Interactions
Interaction #1 Pip5k1c - Tln1

Interfaces
(1) ELM:LIG_PTB_Talin motif (645SPLH648) in Phosphatidylinositol 4-phosphate 5-kinase type-1 gamma (Pip5k1c)
(2) PTB domain (IRS-1 type) (310-401) in Talin-1 (Tln1)

Interaction Regulation
Alternative splicing Abrogation of the Phosphatidylinositol 4-phosphate 5-kinase type-1 gamma (Pip5k1c) LIG_PTB_Talin motif - Talin-1 (Tln1) PTB domain (IRS-1 type) interaction
