Switch #:
SWTI000673
Switch type:
Binary
Switch subtype:
Physicochemical compatibility

Description:
Phosphorylation of S461 in the PP1-binding motif of Neurabin-1 (Ppp1r9a) by cAMP subfamily inhibits binding to the Serine/threonine-protein phosphatase PP1-alpha catalytic subunit (Ppp1ca). Binding of Neurabin-1 (Ppp1r9a) inhibits activity of the phosphatase.

Participants:
(1) Neurabin-1 (Ppp1r9a)
(2) Serine/threonine-protein phosphatase PP1-alpha catalytic subunit (Ppp1ca)

Interactions
Interaction #1 Ppp1r9a - Ppp1ca

Interfaces
(1) DOC_PP1 motif (455NRKIKFS461) in Neurabin-1 (Ppp1r9a)
(2) Calcineurin-like phosphoesterase (57-252) in Serine/threonine-protein phosphatase PP1-alpha catalytic subunit (Ppp1ca)

Interaction Regulation
PTM-dependent Inhibition (Phosphorylation of S461 on Neurabin-1 (Ppp1r9a)) of the Neurabin-1 (Ppp1r9a) DOC_PP1 motif - Serine/threonine-protein phosphatase PP1-alpha catalytic subunit (Ppp1ca) Calcineurin-like phosphoesterase interaction
