Description: Phosphorylation of T329 in the Pin1-binding motif of Alpha-globin transcription factor CP2 (TFCP2) induces binding to Peptidyl-prolyl cis-trans isomerase NIMA-interacting 1 (PIN1), which isomerises the peptide bonds at the nearby-phosphorylated SP motifs (S291 and S309) to the trans configuration, thereby facilitating their dephosphorylation, which is required for the transcriptional activity of Alpha-globin transcription factor CP2 (TFCP2).
Participants: (1) Alpha-globin transcription factor CP2 (TFCP2) (2) Peptidyl-prolyl cis-trans isomerase NIMA-interacting 1 (PIN1)
(1) Prolyl isomerase Pin1 regulates transcription factor LSF (TFCP2) by facilitating dephosphorylation at two serine-proline motifs.Saxena et al. J. Biol. Chem. (2010)
