Switch #:
SWTI000197
Switch type:
Binary
Switch subtype:
Physicochemical compatibility

Description:
Phosphorylation of S21 adjacent to the SH3-binding motif of Serine/threonine-protein kinase PAK 1 (PAK1) by RAC subfamily inhibits binding to Cytoplasmic protein NCK1 (NCK1), which regulates its localization to focal contacts.

Participants:
(1) Serine/threonine-protein kinase PAK 1 (PAK1)
(2) Cytoplasmic protein NCK1 (NCK1)

Interactions
Interaction #1 PAK1 - NCK1

Interfaces
(1) LIG_SH3_2 motif (13PAPPMR18) in Serine/threonine-protein kinase PAK 1 (PAK1)
(2) SH3 domain (112-157) in Cytoplasmic protein NCK1 (NCK1)

Interaction Regulation
PTM-dependent Abrogation (Phosphorylation of S21 on Serine/threonine-protein kinase PAK 1 (PAK1)) of the Serine/threonine-protein kinase PAK 1 (PAK1) LIG_SH3_2 motif - Cytoplasmic protein NCK1 (NCK1) SH3 domain interaction

Regulatory Enzymes for switch
Modifying enzymes for residue: S21: RAC subfamily
