Switch #:
SWTI000492
Switch type:
Binary
Switch subtype:
Pre-translational

Description:
Alternative splicing removes the PKA-binding motif of Isoform Short of Spectrin beta chain, brain 1 (SPTBN1), abrogating binding to cAMP-dependent protein kinase catalytic subunit alpha (PRKACA). The phosphorylation of the short C-terminal betaII-spectrin (also known as Isoform Short of Spectrin beta chain, brain 1 (SPTBN1)) by PKA is important in allowing neuritogenesis.

Participants:
(1) Isoform Short of Spectrin beta chain, brain 1 (SPTBN1)
(2) cAMP-dependent protein kinase catalytic subunit alpha (PRKACA)
