Switch #:
SWTI000020
Switch type:
Binary
Switch subtype:
Physicochemical compatibility

Description:
Phosphorylation of T701 in the degron of Large T antigen induces binding to the F-box/WD repeat-containing protein 7 (FBXW7) protein, which recruits it to the SCF ubiquitin ligase complex where it is marked for degradation.

Participants:
(1) Large T antigen
(2) F-box/WD repeat-containing protein 7 (FBXW7)

Interactions
Interaction #1 - FBXW7

Interfaces
(1) DEG_SCF_FBW7_2 motif (699PPTPPPE705) in Large T antigen
(2) WD domain, G-beta repeat (371-407) and (411-447) and (451-487) and (491-527) and (531-567) and (571-607) and (611-650) in F-box/WD repeat-containing protein 7 (FBXW7)

Interaction Regulation
PTM-dependent Induction (Phosphorylation of T701 on Large T antigen) of the Large T antigen DEG_SCF_FBW7_2 motif - F-box/WD repeat-containing protein 7 (FBXW7) WD domain, G-beta repeat interaction

Context
Switch localisation
ELM curated: cytosol, nucleus
